Every once in awhile,everyone needs to take some time out and play...one beautiful afternoon a couple of weeks ago,a good friend of mine Sarah Metz Sarah Metz and I just took our kids out to a pretty field and had a photography playdate. Well, the summer heat is ON and I had to take some time out of my busy life to be sure and photograph MY own kids this summer, so I took them to a new fun location yesterday and took a lot of portraits and I just had to share this one of my daughters. It makes me laugh because they truly adore each-other (you can so see it in the image too) and it makes my heart melt with pure happiness.

Been playing with something totally new to me...textures! I have always loved looking at other photographers work using textures but never got a chance to try it out for myself so the other day I bought so really cool textures from Nichole V and played with them last night and WOW...I am hooked! Here is a photo I took of a beautiful expectant mom and her oldest daughter and I love this image not to mention how the texture really gives it a fun urban feel; very natural, very pure! Giovanni & Isabella ...

Last weekend, I got to take some updated photos of Giovanni and Baby Sister Isabella. Giovanni is the brave, brave boy (and close family friends of ours) that is fighting a tough battle of Leukemia! He is looking GREAT in these photos and doing really good but he still has another couple of years of treatments and it is a rough road ahead for him and his family. Baby Sister is such a sweetie and provides lots of joy to the entire Hartman family...isn't she a sweetie!? And I am personally so proud of Giovanni. He even lost his first tooth last month. At the young age of just five years old, this brave boy is a fighter. Please keep him and his family in your prayers and email me if you want to help this family out in any way. Both parents are out of work right now and things are not easy.

Beautiful Baby Bump...

I got to photograph the most gorgeous pregnant lady last weekend (I love my job!). Laura is beautiful, fun and so photogenic! Can you believe this women is due is just about one week in these photos!? Yes, she sure is and she is absolutely glowing! Look at her- WOW, I wish I looked this stunning a week before my due date! We had so much fun and I can't wait for her baby to arrive and hopefully get to photograph little SKY too! The family is wonderful and with the new addition; they are going to be in pure bliss! Here are just four "sneak peek" shots I got...LOTS MORE COMING SOON!

I am working on getting this maternity session done, a special second part of our close friend Giovanni (the courageous five year old fighting leukemia- that I got to take updated photos of them last weekend too) and also some more fabulous BabyGoRetro summer clothing so I have a lot more coming in the next few weeks! Not to mention, I am putting the finishing touches on my photography website (finally) and getting it ready to go LIVE very soon.

A brave boy and his baby sister...

Here are just a few shots (lots more to come) of a very brave boy named Giovanni! G is fighting Leukemia; Cancer and at the young age of just five years old- he is handling it with amazing courage and strength and so far he is winning but not without some tough times for this sweet boy and his equally strong parents; Bret & Suzanna as well as his angelic Baby Sister Isabella just three months old. Needless to say, this family is going through a very rough patch. Right now, neither parent is employed and as you can imagine...this family needs our help. I am blessed to know them through a close friend of mine, Lisa...the sister to Giovanni's Dad and Aunt to the children. Last weekend, I got to take some beautiful photos of the kids and here are just a few for now. I want to also include the link to G's website where you can also donate to his family for his care- they are in need and those of us that are fortunate and have the resources to help them out just should...period! Baseballs, Boys, Babies and Bunches...

Today was a busy day for me! First off, I got to spend a wonderful lunch with my fabulous family and that is the single best thing of my day but I also got to do a ton of shooting today from sweet little newborn babies to baseball teams and everything in between it seemed...lucky,lucky me! Milestones...

Baby Grace (my youngest daughter) just turned eight months old last week. She is such a sweet baby, so full of energy and character. This last weekend she started sitting up all by herself (with a tiny bit of help from her sister Faith) and it opens up a whole new world of photography posing for me-yay! So , here are just a couple shots I snapped of her showing off her new milestone. Oh, and for all of our friends and family that have expressed your love and support in her tough hospitalization, she has been given a clean bill of health so we are very relieved to share that news and again, thank you for your love and prayers.

Here is just one really special shot that I got at a family portrait session of a really sweet family today, so patient and nice. I love it when clients become "friends", and I have a feeling that Mama "K" and I are going to be good friends. This picture is super special to us all because it was tough to get the "sibling shot"... we worked our butts off to do it and this shot came out cuter than expected so I hope you love it as much as I do! Super fun shoot I did today! Beautiful family inside and out and just relaxed and easy going too, beautiful day- the weather was perfect for a mid-day shoot. I love it when I get a family like this! Another neat thing for me, being a Mom to two little girl's, was that this family was all BOYS with the exception of one stunning lady; Mom; Rebecca (You Rock!) and for me is was such a kick to shoot boys and these boys are both so handsome, full of life and energy and this family is just so full of love- you could feel the love in this family...such great energy. So, I just could not wait to get home and upload their session photos and edit a few to post for a "sneak peek" here on my BLOG before going to bed. I had to take a moment to post a recent photo I took of MY girl's. I love this shot I got of both of them together as it is natural and they look like themselves so much here (not easy to get a shot like that!). I have several sessions this weekend and I know I will be posting a session video in the next few days of the "P" family taken a few weeks ago and then I will be posting previews for the sessions I have this weekend so, feeling a little guilty (nah...just wanted to post a pic of my kids) but I thought I better blog a shot of my two beautiful daughters; Faith(age 5) & Grace (6months). Baby Grace is 6 months old today...

Yes, my baby is 6 months old today! It has been such a wonderful last 6 months and we enjoy her more every day and love her more everyday! My oldest daughter, Faith is off to Kindergarten in a week and my baby is six months...wow, life moves way to fast! I am so blessed and just had to share a little mini-session photo I took of Grace earlier today. I got these hats from a fabulous designer and am loving them all...more of them to come in future sessions.

This begins my blogging about oldest daughter Faith, and her week before turning five years old and it will continue with photos of her big Birthday Bash as well as the exciting weekend and all our celebrations for her. Gracie is growing up...

My little newborn baby; Grace, is growing up so fast- too fast! It seems like yesterday she was growing in my belly and now she is trying to crawl! YIKES! She is eating solids a little now (rice cereal and baby banana's once a day) but she is just doing everything crazy fast! She is 5 months now (WOW) and what is even wilder is that her BIG SISTER Faith is turning 5 years old tomorrow!! Well, thought I better post of few cute shots I took of Grace today since the next few weeks I am sure I will be blogging Faith's birthday and party and everything.

Independence Day!

We had a spectacular 4th of July this year up in Oregon with ALL the family from my side; my two brother's and one sister and their spouses and kids; cousins and my parents...10 Grand-kids on my side- my parents are very blessed and of course; my husband, my two girl's and me, Needless to say, it was a fun filled fabulous time. Here are a few shots I took while we were there (yes, I am a little behind on editing and posting but hey- it is summer!) and I am enjoying every minute of it this year with both my girl's.

I finally am getting a chance to upload, convert and do some quick editing on a couple photos I took of Faith and her Ballet class doing their routine at the BIG dance recital a few weeks ago. They did a sweet little number called "Dream Ballet" and it was very cute. Faith has been dancing ballet since she was 2 years old (she is almost 5 now!) and loves it. This is her third recital and she is getting so good not to mention she just loves to dance and sing. She is quite the little performer. Her class this last year was small so you see just four of her little friends; dance girlfriends doing there thing and they all did wonderful. MY DAUGHTER FAITH IS THE ONE TO THE FAR RIGHT JUST IN CASE YOU DID NOT KNOW! ;)

Also, here is a pic I got of the teacher also performing in the recital.

Here is a "sneak peek" of my little ballerina, Faith I took before we headed off to her BIG ballet recital last weekend. I think she looks just breathtakingly beautiful and she did a amazing job performing her big number...the "Dream Ballet" routine too (Her Dad and I were so proud of her!). Grace got her ears pierced...

I had to share a couple of shots I took of Baby Grace earlier today. She had her 4 month Doctor visit this last week and her pediatrician gave her 4 shots (OUCH!) and also pierced her ears, since Big Sister Faith had her ears done at 2 months (Yes, I am a mean mom). She did great and was such a little trooper and Faith was such a sweet sister hugging her and trying to comfort her- it was precious. Grace bounced back by the next day- she is a tough lil' thing! Oh, and her Dr. also said she is getting 2 teeth in already- YIKES! She does everything early it seems as Faith was 8-10 months before she got teeth. Anyways- everyone is good and I just wanted to post these sweet shots I took today of her. Tomorrow is Faith's BIG Ballet recital so I will be posting lots of those pictures of Faith in the next few days...always TRYING to keep things 50/50 with both my girl's!

It seems like just yesterday when I was playing with Carolyn in her pool as I was her nanny since she was 2 months old all through her elm. school years while I was in college and now she watches my daughters...crazy how life goes-so cool! She is such a wonderful girl and has grown into a beautiful young women now- WOWZA! Here are a couple pictures I just had to share with her and her family as well as my family and friends as I have watched her grown up all her life and it is such a joy to see what a great person she is and has grown up to be. We Love you Carolyn!

Gracie is 4 months old now...

Look at my little Baby Grace here in this iphone (I can't wait to get the NEW iphone July 11th) pic I snapped yesterday (had to tweek it a bit in PS but it looks pretty good-minus the catchlights), I just love the sweet expression she had on her face so I had to post it today as she is now four months old...I really can't believe it! Sad how fast our babies grow up. But look at those "baby blues", I wonder if her eyes will stay blue or turn green like her Dad's- guess we will see!?

First Friends...

WOW...two posts from me in the same day- that is a first for sure!

Okay, so taking a little break from my "action" shots and wanted to share this photo of my dear daughter and her first real little girl-friend. Sad thing is, after they became close friends- Miss L has to move down to Southern California. We are so sad but at least it is just an 8-10 hour drive and I am sure we will stay in contact with her and her family. As preschool ends tomorrow I am feeling mixed emotions, very proud and happy that Faith will be starting Kindergarten in the fall BUT at the same time, sad to see her growing up so darn fast! And, also sad to say "GoodBye" to her friend. We will miss you Miss L. But we know you will be happy and we will think of you often and cherish the times the girl's spent together (sniff,sniff).

Do you remember your first Girl-friend? I sure do, we still stay in contact in fact. Friends are such a JOY to have in our lives.

This has been a crazy busy wild week with it being Faith's last week of school and ALL the activities that go with that! SO glad summer is just a week (less than that) away now...Yipeeeeeee! :)

And I love that shot of Faith's friend; "E"...he was showing off for Faith (and me) and balancing on the bars for us and I loved the expresstion on his face as he was concentrating.

I am quite proud of this shot (many more to come too!) as I am practicing my "action" shots this next few weeks so I am going to post a lot of action shots of my girl's and their friends. I have given myself a "lesson" to do lots of action shots and work hard on practicing converting my RAW images to photoshop.

My Angel's eyes...

Phew...it has been a loooooonnnnnnggggg day and now that the crazy, hectic day is winding down, I sit here on the couch looking at BOTH my beautiful daughter's fast asleep in dreamland. Faith asleep on the other part of the couch snuggled up in her blanket and looking so beautiful and Baby Grace sleeping in her papasan baby seat also snuggled in her little blanket just as precious as can be. I LOVE moments like this, quiet and peaceful (these days they are very rare in my life!). As wild as it gets at times, I would not change it for the world! I love my life and adore my daughters with all my heart as well as my fantastic, supportive husband Brian. Life is beautiful! My daughters look so sweet right now. Oh, I LOVE them when they are awake and bright eyed and ready to go! But, I have to admit that I enjoy this moment of quiet when I can reflect on how happy I am and how lucky I am.

So, now about the fabulous photo above taken by Sarah (thanks for letting me share) a few weeks ago of my two little darlings. I LOVE how the first thing you see when you look at this stunning capture is my girl's eyes- both of them, one brown and one blue, as they both have piercing eyes...I must say, I have two gorgeous girls!!!!

SWIM CLASS...

Okay so for just about three months now, Faith has been taking swim lessons at a swim school that I LOVE and actually she loves too, however, it is new and scary for her and it is NOT a warm fuzzy type swim school- it is ALL about being pool safe and learning to swim (no cute medals or awards just hard core learn to swim!). The good news (great news to a mommy that wants her 4 almost 5 year old to be SAFE in the pool and heck, everywhere), is that she IS learning to swim and is very proud of herself! She should be, she has come a LONG way and it has not been easy for her or myself. That said, today was a HUGE day for her as she took class and cried just a little (this is much,much,much improved!) so she finally got a ballon afterward and boy was she happy! Here is a photo of her and her friend Jeff (Great job too JJ) after class after they got their ballons. It was a fantastic day!!!!

Growing up...

I am so amazed at how fast time flies and my kids are growing up! It just shocks me! Faith, my oldest, in the first photo will be five yes 5 years old in just a month and a half...Here is a little sneak peek of some photos taken for her birthday invitations for the "Luau Hula Party" she will be having in July. Gosh...my baby is going to be 5! Yikes! sniff, sniff...

Then there is Baby Grace, now three yep, 3 months old. I can not believe it! Seems like just yesterday I was taking the pregnancy test and jumping up and down with Faith and Brian that we were finally going to have another child and now she is not even a newborn really anymore. She is so active and is such a mover and shaker. We all adore her and our family feels so complete now having two girls- crazy busy sometimes but wonderful!

I also am excited to share these photos as I am learning to shoot in RAW and with my new Photoshop CS2- it is so fun! Sarah (my mentor and close friend) and I worked on these shots and more today and I am thrilled to finally be getting somewhere and feeling better about my photography...of course I have lots more to learn but I am so happy to be getting closer to where I want to be with it.

Pure Bliss!

Well, I am winding down from a wonderful "Mother's Day" yesterday...my first Mother's Day being a mommy to two kids not just one anymore. It was a great day.Starting with Church with the family in the morning, a lovely brunch out afterwards and all afternoon just playing at the park with my girls and husband (well the baby can not really play yet but she loves to watch her Big Sister play!). I could not have asked for a more perfect day! Funny how the older you get, your life changes and "The Perfect Day" changes too! Another thing I have to share is a fantastic sermon at church that morning about "raising kids" the pastor spoke of what really and I mean, REALLY matters to kids; makes them happy. He said, TIME spent with your children (that is the single most important reason I choose to be a full-time stay at home mom and love it!) as well as he also spoke about the fact that in today's culture- we strive so hard to give our kids everything; especially the edge to make it and do well and suceed in life however, with too much pressure our kids can many times do the opposite, so it was a great reminder to me to SLOW DOWN and just enjoy life and time with my kids and let them enjoy life too! The last and most meaningful thing he said was...PUT GOD FIRST IN YOUR CHILDREN'S LIVES- not soccer or piano lessons but GOD. I am thankful for that reminder and it came at a perfect time. So, enough about that for now but I just had to share.

Saturday afternoon we had a new family photo session with my dear friend and talented photographer; Sarah Metz (Thanks Sarah!) and she took some new updated family photos including the baby so we now will have some current family of four photos. Photos are probably one of my most cherished material items as they are something well worth paying money for as you can not bring back time but you can always look at a photo and bring back ALL the memories; feelings...everything! So getting our family together to get some shots of us all is precious to me! So, Sarah was nice enough to let me share one of the beautiful shots she took of my two little angels...sweet sisters- and they sure do love,love,love each-other. In this photo- Faith is 4 years old almost 5 and Grace is 12 weeks almost 3 months old. I KNOW I will look back at this picture all my life and SMILE! The girl's bring such joy to my life and I am so proud and lucky to be their MOM!

To ALL you MOM's...hope your day was very special.

Now back to the crazy days (reminding myself to SLOW DOWN and enjoy!) as we go,go,go...

I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.

Pooped on.

Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.

I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests.
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.
Before I was a Mom -
I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put him down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom -

I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy.

Before I was a Mom -

I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache,
the wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.

I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much, before I was a Mom.

Grace is ALMOST three ...YES, 3 Months old!!!!

Okay, seriously now...time flies when your having fun and boy are we having a blast with Baby Grace! She is such a fun and happy little baby. Her smile is infectious! Big Sister Faith just melts as do Mommy (myself) and Daddy and pretty much everyone that see's her and gets to see that big old smile she loves to share. I am so in love with this baby. Of course, I have always been in love with her older sister Faith (4 almost 5 years old now- wow...see time does fly!) BUT, I questioned if I had enough love in my heart to share with BOTH my girls before Grace was born. It is confirmed 110%- I totally am IN LOVE beyond my wildest dreams with BOTH my precious daughters; Faith & Grace (and hubby Brian too)! Okay, so enough gushing about my little angels (who at times push my buttons- both of them but I adore them even more for that honestly!) SWEET & SPUNKY LIKE THEIR MOM and their DAD too.

Now some details...

Grace is growing hair (Yipeeee!) and is looks like a medium brown, not as dark as big sisters but brown. Her eyes are still in question though- well, they are big and beautiful like Faith's BUT the color- hmmm, some days it looks blue, others grey blue and other days is is sorta brown so who knows... All I know, is they are bright and stunning (exactly like Big Sisters!!) which is going to make it very hard for Daddy to say "NO" to either of them ever. Grace is just about 10 pounds now , still sweet and petite and about 22-23 in. long. She is very strong, active and sleeps great and like I said before, very happy! She is a doll. Faith loves that she smiles at her ALL THE TIME (as do Brian and myself).

Sorry- I have not sent my recent amount of daily photos to you family & friends BUT I have been taking lots of photos I just have not got a chance to get them edited, cropped and sized nor post them BUT I will catch up on that this next week.

For now, here is a sweet shot of Grace taken last weekend of her and Daddy (observe the wildly growing hair she is sporting-luv it!).

The girl's keep me very busy and life is so fun! :)

Spring is here!!

I am SOOO excited that spring has finally arrived! The SUN was out and the weather was HOT here today and it was fabulous! We had our close friends, The Metz's over for a BBQ and the kids played with the big water ball...they had a blast! The "Dad's" talked about sports and us "Mom's" talked about our kids and Sarah taught me how to shoot in RAW finally (Yipee!) and we also played in photoshop too and had fun editing pictures of our kids! It was a GREAT day! I LOVE lazy family fun in the sun days like this sooo much.
Life is GOOD! Here are a few photos I took today; one of Faith playing with the water ball and having a ball (hehe) and one of Baby Grace inside just posing for the camera (the baby was born with a camera in her face literally, thanks to Sarah) so she is a natural at the old age of 2 months...yep, she turned 2 two months yesterday (sniff, sniff!). Everyone is doing great!

Faith just adores her Baby sister Grace ...really she does! I am amazed at how much she loves her in the short month that we have had sweet little Grace in our family. She was born just 4 weeks ago and is such a huge part of our family already. We have all just blended so well so quickly, not that there has not been some crazy, tough moments adjusting but overall I am truly thrilled with how easy and beautiful it all has gone. Brian and I are loving having two 2 girls now and are proud parents of them both. Anyway, enough rambling for now. Here is a photo I took of the girls before bed one night last week and I just loved the look on Faith's face admiring her sister as Grace just slept away... this picture is such a sweet "moment"and I am glad I caught it!

In my daughter's eyes...

Okay, so it has been almost 1 month now that I have been a mother of two girls! There have been so many ups and of course a few moments of not so up...not that I am complaining at all as I KNOW how blessed I am to have these two beautiful girls in my life along with there Daddy; my dear husband Brian however, it is quite an adjustment and yet I truly feel like the luckiest person alive! Reality though is hardly ever a quiet moment to myself with caring for a newborn baby and also a 4 year old Big Sister, it gets crazy and hectic and tough at times BUT then, I remember what MY MOM always tells me...they are young for such a short time so enjoy every moment of it! That is when I look into my daughter's sweet eyes (both of my girls that is- Faith & Grace!) and my heart melts with the overwelming amount of LOVE I feel for my daughters and it makes ALL the crazy, frustrating, wild times ALL worth it and then some! So, here are a couple recent photos I took of my Baby Grace (she is now just about a month old-wow...time flies!) and I just look into these eyes and my older daughter Faith's eyes; my best friend and sweet little angel and remember that life is pure bliss!

Hello Friends & Family,

We Just wanted to let you know that Baby "Grace" arrived on Feb. 15th at 8:36 am. She weighed 6 lbs. and is 19 inches long. We are all home and happy and healthy.

Well, WE are waiting anxiously for Baby Grace to make her arrival (she is due anytime although her official due date is Feb.10th)...so life goes on. As we wait, I shot some new pictures of Faith. The Holiday's are such a magical time, especially with young kids! Just such a wonderful time of the year. Above, is a photo taken yesterday of my darling daughter Faith visting Santa and also a photo of her and her best boy friend Jeff in front of our Christmas tree in there new PJ's they just got after visting Santa.

Hello, Hello!

We are excited to announce that we just found out that Faith (now 4 yrs.old) is going to be having a baby SISTER in early February. She , and Brian & I, are very happy. The Baby is growing fast and looks great and BIG SISTER is as proud as can be. We are in the mist of moving to, in the next few weeks as well so all is busy but fun here.

Oh...and below is a glimpse of Baby “Grace Anne”- (yes, we already have her name picked out!) growing inside me.
